The Estate
Enjoy a unique and relaxing experience. Nestled in the splendid setting of the Tuscan countryside, you can bask in the beauty of the landscape and immerse yourself in the history of the territory in which the Tenuta i Mandorli is located.
The estate is located on top of a hill, in the heart of the Alta Valdera National Park. The Tuscan Apennine mountains frame one of the finest wine regions in Italy. A few minutes from Volterra, 50 minutes away from Pisa and Florence, the estate covers an area of 60 hectares where you can explore the woods as well as the green valleys covered with colorful wild flowers.
The estate and surrounding area was used by the Templars who, according to documents in the Volterra synod of 1358, had built mansions where they could sojourn and refresh their horses, as well as escape persecution.
The estate was recently restored by Dr. Bruno Bardi, a veterinarian, who in 1966 bought the property and established a thriving thoroughbred horse farm, where he bred race horses for many decades. Tenuta i Mandorli, now a Country Resort, has been designed to guarantee maximum hospitality and relaxation to all its guests. The apartments, in classic Tuscan style, are rich in history as well as equipped with all the modern comforts necessary to assure an extremely enjoyable and relaxing experience.
The Church
A lovely consecrated Church, built at the end of the 1400s and finely restored, lends even more historical charm to the estate. Upon crossing the threshold, in front of you is a splendid painting depicting St.Catherine of Alexandria which lends a mystical charm to the ancient altar of marble and stone.
The small church is delightful and welcoming, ideal for enjoying a moment of peace and reflection, surrounded by silence.
The pool
Completely surrounded by greenery and with breathtaking views, a large swimming pool offers the guests on the estate an area for refreshment and relaxation. The graduated depth is safe for children and will allow you to relax in the shade of a gazebo reserved for you or take advantage of the barbecue area.
